Why Recreation Like This Matters in Historic Nacogdoches

Nacogdoches is one of the most historic cities in Texas — rich in culture, tradition, and community pride. But modern recreational gathering spaces are becoming harder to find.

Across East Texas and beyond, we’ve seen family entertainment centers, bowling alleys, skating rinks, and arcades close their doors. Local news continues to report that these spaces are disappearing, leaving fewer safe, affordable places for families to gather.

Sparks Lake Activity Center is being built to reverse that trend. We are creating a space designed for connection — not just competition. A place where grandparents, parents, teens, and children can all participate.

Mini Golf is only one piece of a larger outdoor vision that includes Batting Cages, Disc Golf, Pickleball, Pavilion space, and more — built intentionally for this community.
