Sparks Lake Activity Center is a community-driven restoration effort to bring new life to a historic campus in Nacogdoches. We’re rebuilding a place where youth, families, and neighbors can come together through recreation, development, and events.
Our mission is simple: honor the legacy, create positive opportunities, and build a welcoming space that serves the next generation.

Located on the former Leroy Street campus, Sparks Lake Activity Center is being restored step-by-step to serve as a positive, active hub for the community. What once supported students during a pivotal time in our city’s story is being reopened as a space for basketball, youth programs, community gatherings, and growth.
We believe restoration is more than construction — it’s creating access, safety, mentorship, and connection. With local partners, volunteers, and sponsors, we’re building something lasting: a place where everyone feels welcome.
The Sparks Lake Activity Center is more than a basketball court — it’s a growing community destination. Alongside the restored basketball court and indoor activity center, plans include miniature golf, frisbee golf, batting cages, pickleball courts, a covered pavilion, and more spaces designed to bring families, students, and the community together.
